January came today

And though I like to try

I can’t quite recall to say

Just when she dropped on by.

She says to us “Spring is near”

But we plunge into the cold

Soon enough, it’s all too clear

That we’re in for ice and snow.

Yet, somehow, despite the cold

We warm up to her at last

And when she says “I must go”

We long for our snowy past.
